The Cork Area Policy Implementation Group (CAPIG) will host their second annual seminar in Bessborough, Mahon on Thursday, 12th September 2019. The theme of the seminar will focus on how to promote trauma-informed practice within Tusla’s service delivery.

CAPIG is an organised, expert implementation support to frontline staff in the Cork Area child protection and welfare services and has representation from all relevant teams and key stakeholders.

The primary function of CAPIG is to oversee and support the implementation of child protection and welfare policies into frontline social work practice. In so doing CAPIG performs the following tasks:

  • Move policies through the stages of the implementation process
  • Identify barriers and find solutions
  • Employ data-based decision making
  • Evaluate outcomes

CAPIG also provides a forum for integrating the extensive knowledge and experience of frontline staff and local managers during policy development by also facilitating channels of communication with TUSLA’s national office.
