CKT

A long-standing partnership between UCC and CKT

University College Cork and Comyn Kelleher Tobin have had a long-standing partnership going back many years. In our Cork office alone, 75% of our solicitors are UCC graduates. At CKT, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of high-achieving talent and thus supporting that talent through our partnership with UCC is and has always been very important to us.

We support UCC throughout the year in a number of ways. In 2020, we

  • Presented at Seminars,
  • Acted as judge for the Law Society Moot Court Open events,
  • Attended Graduate Roadshows,
  • Recruited UCC Interns and trainees, and
  • Awarded the Comyn Kelleher Tobin Graduate Bursary.

The Comyn Kelleher Tobin Graduate Bursary has been in place for many years. This bursary has enabled awarded students over the years to continue their studies. It is awarded to a Law graduate in support of the LLM by Major Thesis or PhD studies in the School of Law.

The awarding ceremony took place virtually in December. Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of CKT, Deborah Moore, Managing Partner, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Rhoda Jennings on winning this award. As a UCC Graduate, it is a great honour to be in a position where CKT can sponsor this bursary. It is very important to us as it signifies a long-standing relationship with UCC, one that we look forward to continuing for many years to come.”

Congratulations Rhoda Jennings on your award.

This year, we are looking forward to our first few virtual events with UCC. On 1st February, we will attend the UCC Law Society Careers Fair, and on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2021, we look forward to sponsoring and attending the Women in Law Forum organised by the UCC Law Society.
