Childcare Law Solicitor
Comyn Kelleher Tobin LLP is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join the Childcare Law Department. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of childcare law matters, representing clients in District Court proceedings and providing expert advice on all aspects of child protection and welfare law.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and represent clients in childcare law matters, including applications under the relevant and related legislation.
- Prepare and present cases before the District Court and other relevant forums.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documentation to a high standard.
- Liaise with social workers, guardians ad litem, and other stakeholders in child protection cases.
- Provide clear, timely legal advice to clients and maintain excellent client care standards.
- Manage files efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Contribute to departmental knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in Ireland with 3–5 years PQE.
- District Court advocacy experience is essential.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Full clean driver’s license is essential.
Desirable
- Experience working with public bodies or in child protection litigation.
- Familiarity with legal processes and procedures.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in childcare law.
