Thomas was a founding Partner of Comyn Kelleher Tobin with Olann Kelleher in 1982 and is a specialist in real property/property development. He practices mainly in Conveyancing, in particular, Commercial Conveyancing having acted for the Health Service Executive, Bank of Ireland, Tanzia Developments Ltd, John F. Supple Ltd, Construction Industry Federation and many others.

His practice areas also include corporate and commercial advice, corporate insolvency work, tax based property work and general construction and property work. Thomas has been involved in Public and Private Partnership developments with Cork City Council and private developers, industrial developments at Little Island and Mahon (Cork), and Cork County Council Affordable Housing Schemes.
