Deirdre
O’Riordan, Solicitor
Deirdre graduated from UCC with a BCL degree in 1996 and a Masters in 1997 (LLM) and qualified as a Solicitor in 2000. Deirdre practises in the firm’s Family Law Department having joined CKT in October 2006 after 6 years of working exclusively in the area of Family Law. She specializes in all areas of Family Law including Separation and Divorce, Custody and Access to children, Maintenance, Domestic Violence disputes, and related matters. Deirdre has specifically trained in Collaborative Law an alternative method of dispute resolution in family matters and has concluded a number of cases through the Collaborative Process. Deirdre also practises in the area of Mental Health law.
She has contributed articles to the Irish Journal of Family Law and other publications and is a regular tutor and lecturer for the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland in both Dublin and Cork Law Schools. She has participated in training of Social Science students at UCC and has presented talks on Domestic Violence and Mental Health law. She is a member of the Cork Family Lawyers Association, the Association of Collaborative Practitioners (ACP) and their international body (IACP).
